Tree Peony At Last
My tree peony is blooming! I wait for this all spring--there are weeks of anticipation as it begins to leaf out and the buds form. I actually have three tree peonies, but this pink one is the biggest and the showiest, and the oldest--I planted it in 1990. It started blooming late last week and was at its peak over the weekend. I love to sit on my front step in the evening and admire and enjoy it. Already though it is starting to fade, especially with this hot weather of the past few days. It probably would last longer if it was in some shade, unfortunately mine gets all the afternoon sun. But it is really a show stopper when it is in bloom. I can't understand why cars aren't stopping as they drive by?!
