Woke up during the night to the wonderful sounds of thunder and lightning, and heavy rain. We need rain so badly, so the garden is happy this morning. I spent a few hours outside yesterday cleaning up the back garden, cutting back all the ratty daylilies and pulling weeds and deadheading. I feel like I haven't been in the garden that much because it has just been so hot. I even Miracle-Gro'd my pots, the first time since June. Here are some of the happy blooms in the garden this morning.
